A CROOKED Spa businessman, who swindled more than half a million pounds for personal gain, is living a luxury lifestyle on a paradise island.
Andrew Nolan, formerly of Nightingale Close, off Tagwell Road, has been tracked down in sunny Cyprus.
The boardroom baddie notoriously crippled his insurance company to fund a lavish lifestyle and tapped funds for his own wedding.
He was hauled before Birmingham County Court in June to face up to his dirty deeds and is now banned from acting as a company director until 2018. The 39-year-old left hundreds of motorists with worthless insurance policies and pilfered more than £700,000 from the accounts.
Last week, tabloid daily The Mirror snapped Nolan living it up in Pegeia, near tourist trap Paphos. Nasty Nolan and his wife Sharon were found at a £300,000 villa, boasting two cars, a gym and jet skis.
His firm 0700 Realisations Ltd, of Redditch, which incorporated Swiftact Ltd, went into voluntary liquidation in July 2000.Unpaid bills totalled £2.3m and when accountants PriceWaterhouseCoopers moved in they found a £722,000 hole in the books.
The judge presiding over the case said he was "particularly appalled by the flagrant abuse of monies provided on trust." He dished out the maximum and rare ban of 15 years. Nolan failed to ensure refunds and deposits in excess of £95,000 were paid to customers.
The Mirror reported that it had passed on Nolan's new address to the Department of Trade and Industry.
The Government office could not tell the Advertiser whether or not any further action will be taken.
