ADVENTUROUS girl guides have broken out of Droitwich Spa to take on a European challenge.
On Saturday, youngsters from across Worcestershire flocked to their HQ in Acre Lane to wave off six girls and two leaders.
Competing against teams from across the UK, the travellers have two weeks to visit five countries, using as many modes of transport as possible.
A strict budget £700 per head must be adhered to and stop-offs in Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Belgium are imperative.
Tasks such as having a photograph taken with a policeman and visiting an ecological site must also be carried out. The participants were picked from a county selection day and ages range from 15 to 18. Two hundred black and white balloons were released to mark the occasion. In two weeks time, 'Break Out' contenders must meet at the Atomium, in North Brussels and the winner will be revealed.
