SO Lisa Marie has followed in her old man's footsteps by embarking on a career in music - a move which suggests she either knows something we don't about her capabilities or is desperate to achieve something other than being Elvis's offspring or Wacko Jacko's ex-wife.
It's a brave move to embark on a singing career and one which will see her slated before she is praised.
After all, comparisons are bound to be drawn between her and Elvis which will see Lisa Marie come off a hundred times worse - no-one can compete with a legend like The King, especially not his own child.
That said, the album is a reasonable debut with a Sheryl Crow country rock feel that also satisfies our fascination with celebrity by giving an insight into Lisa Marie's life.
Lights Out and Nobody Noticed It are obviously about Elvis, with lyrics like "You were lovely then/All that you had to endure/I guess nobody noticed it/You made me/I love you and did you know nothing has changed/And now everyone they notice it/Everyone notices."
There's a particularly bitter attack on an unnamed ex in Gone, and a psychoanalysis of the singer in Important - "Maybe the reason I'm so needy is because I never had real devotion/Maybe I criticised your loyalty because it wasn't given to me".
This should do well - if only because people will buy it out of curiosity - but hopefully her next will offer more than just the Presley name.
