ROSS Dingley of Bromsgrove Olympique Cycling Club saw his medal hopes dashed by the smallest of margins in Cardiff last Saturday.
Dingley, aged 16, finished fourth, one place behind the medal positions in the U16s event at the British Cycling National Youth Omnium Track Series. His consistent scoring in the series also took him into second place overall.
Eight-year-old brother Jason won the U10s event by over three minutes at the Catton Park round of the Midland Mountain Bike Series 24 hours later.
Last Friday Genevieve Billington secured a win and two second places at Halesowen in the Freewheelers A with Jason Dingley close behind her in all races.
Ross Dingley and Ian Billington also had wins in the points race, 500m handicap and 25-lap Senior B events.
