IN the absence of president Irene Gardner, vice-president Sue Whiteside opened the meeting.
Speaker Monica Carden drew the raffle, with winner Mollie Gibbs receiving the flower arrangement and then lighting the candle of friendship for Oslo in Norway.
Monica, a former governor of many prisons, including Hewell Grange, then recalled her 32 years service. Interesting, sometimes moving stories were told indicating her caring attitude concerning her charges.
Badges were presented to new honorary members and correspondent Sheila Taylor.
Secretary Georgina Hunt read letters of thanks for donations from County Air Ambulance and the Acorn Trust.
Overseas officer Liz Ostroumoff told of possible forthcoming events, which included a barn dance, endorsing this year's theme, Fun, Friendship and Fellowship.
