His firm was founded in 1824 and is now the only remaining one in the area making mother of pearl products.
President Pam Day paid tribute to committee member Rita Jordan who tragically passed away recently. She will be particularly remembered for the charity lunches she put on in her garden in the summer months.
WIA member Doreen Jeeves, delegate at the AGM at the Royal Albert Hall, gave an interesting report on the proceedings and the results of the resolutions which were all passed with over 90% of votes.
Flower of the month was won by Jackie Grier and Ceri Dry won the competition, with Pam Day second and May Lloyd third.
The next meeting will be on September 8 when all members and friends will be very welcome.
