PRESIDENT Jenny Cox welcomed everyone, including visiting institutes, to the group meeting.
Secretary Rosemary Smith read a report of the AGM held at the Royal Albert Hall recently. It was thought the resolutions put forward were rather poor this year but they were voted on and passed.
Various subjects were discussed, including the use of post offices - "Use them or lose them" was the slogan.
Travel arrangements were made for the August outing to Beckford Silk Mill.
Speaker Alan Thompsett gave a talk on Gardens in Which to Linger.
He showed slides taken of gardens at all times of the year from all over the country.
Ann Smith, of Peopleton WI, won the competition, a favourite garden photograph. Jill Irons, from Feckenham WI, won the raffle.
The September meeting will include a talk on Going to School a Century Ago.
