PUPILS at Walkwood Middle School have been celebrating after topping the league in a national recycling competition.
The school hit the top spot in the Tizer Can Challenge by collecting about 35,000 aluminium drink cans.
Alcan and Tizer organised an end-of-term party for them and the school also wins a Yamaha electric synthesiser and can recycling bank, as well as Tizer goody bags for all 749 youngsters.
More than £240 was raised, which will be used to buy picnic tables, trees and waste bins to improve the school grounds.
