IN the finest traditions of Sherlock Holmes, pupils at Studley High School have been doing a bit of detective work and scooped a national award in the process.
Year 9 students took part in a recent Planet Science "Whodunit" competition open to all primary and secondary schools.
The story was that pop group Busted have a guitar stolen after a gig and the pupils are challenged to solve the crime and name the thief.
They had a series of forensic tests in the laboratory to conduct and then sent off their results on the internet.
And the students scooped both prizes up for grabs, one for the year group and one for Key Stage 3.
Prizes include a laptop computer, a "tablet" Pc, microscopes and £280 of books and science resources.
