WHEN "Abba" met "The Beatles" on Saturday the crowd went wild.
More than 1,000 people flocked to Hopton Court, near Cleobury Mortimer, to enjoy the sunshine for the fifth annual Hole in the Wall concert.
Wyre Forest band Tom the Frop bounced on stage to get the crowd in the mood with What a Beautiful Day by the Levellers and continued with a selection of Beatles songs and covers from the 60s through to the 90s.
Tribute band Abba UK then took over and had everyone singing along and dancing to the Swedish super group's famous hits from Waterloo to Dancing Queen and Thank You For The Music.
It was left to Tom the Frop to end the night with more Beatles music and madcap antics.
The whole event was brought to a close by the crowd singing an unforgettable version of Hey Jude.
During the evening a cheque for £6,500 was handed over to Cancer Research UK. The money had been raised jointly between Tom The Frop and last year's Mayor and Mayoress of Bewdley, councillors Frank and Mavis Baillie.
A concert held at Stourport Civic Hall in March, proved a sell-out when local firms and individuals were asked to sponsor a song.
Mr and Mrs Baillie also hosted two special fund-raisers, including a combined Tom the Frop concert and a mini beer festival.
Buckets passed round the Hopton crowd brought in an extra £400 for the charity, plus a £100 donation from the concert organisers Chris and Sarah Woodward of Hopton Court.
