TWO defensive trialists are looking strong possibilities for contracts at Kidderminster Harriers.
Former loanee Kenny Coleman, who has played as a right wing-back, and centre-half Adam Willis have impressed boss Ian Britton and fellow players.
Harriers are still unbeaten in pre-season after an excellent 1-1 draw with Premiership Leicester on Monday followed up a 6-1 weekend thrashing of Boldmere.
An encouraged Britton admitted: "I had a chat with Kenny during the summer and said he wouldn't get a contract unless certain things were done.
"To be fair, he has responded magnificently."
Of Willis, he said: "A few of the lads have said they have been impressed with him. He organises and talks to them, which matters."
Forward John Williams is another to have caught Britton's eye with three goals but he limped off with a twisted ankle on Monday and is doubtful for the weekend.
Britton has released former Walsall scholar Eliot Paschalis and ex-Bradford striker Mark Danks, who have both scored while on trial.
Paschalis is now having a trial with Kettering and Danks is interesting Hednesford and Halesowen Town where he enjoyed a loan spell last season.
Summer signing Matt Gadsby was having a knee scan today after tweaking ligaments, while young keeper John Danby has been rested with a slight knee injury.
Harriers are preparing for Saturday's home friendly with West Brom, relegated from the Premiership last season, and the return of old Aggborough favourite Lee Hughes.
It will be Albion's opening first-team friendly in England after a tour of Denmark.
Then next Wednesday Paul Merson mania hits town when Walsall, who recently signed the England international, visit (7.30pm).
Two of Britton's striker targets, Andy Bishop and Gary Birch, are likely to be involved for Walsall.
