U3A hosts a talk from the National Office to Pershore and Evesham Groups
Last Tuesday the members of Pershore U3A, together with invited guests from Evesham U3A, met at the Pershore Civic Centre. They had joined together to hear Ms Lynn Jonas from the U3A National Office describe how the money provided by the local groups was spent. She also described how the Pershore and Evesham groups could get best value for their money by exploiting the wide range of learning resources available to them at the national level. The interesting talk was enlivened by graphic descriptions of the problems of moving the head office and some of the curious activities of some of the other groups.
The next meeting of the Pershore Group is on August 19 when Mr R Rigby will talk on "Violette Szabo G C - One of Britain's Most Daring Secret Agents". This will be followed on the August by 26 a "Registration Day" for the Pershore U3A, when any new members will be very welcome.
