TWO open-air theatre companies are bringing performances of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream to the area this weekend.
Heartbreak productions will be presenting a contemporary version of the comedy at Wickhamford manor tomorrow night and then at Witley Court on Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile Facsimile Productions will be performing the play in traditional costumes in the grounds of Coughton Court, near Alcester, on Saturday.
Tickets for the Heartbreak version at Wickhamford Manor can be booked on 01386 830296 and for Witley Court on 01299 896636.
The production features original music and the action has been transferred to the world of city traders.
Facsimile Productions will be bringing their version of the magical tale to Coughton Court on Saturday.
Cast member Andrew Hobbs said he was looking forward to performing in the grounds of the Tudor stately home. "Midsummer Night's Dream is a super play to perform and the atmospheric surroundings of Coughton Court should make it a night to remember, especially as we are playing in Shakespeare's backyard."
Tickets for the Facsimile Productions performance, which starts at 7.30pm, are available by calling 01789 400702.
