SWIMMING: Prolific swimmer Claire Cashmore created a new British record and took a medal home from the National Championships in Manchester.
Cashmore, 15, shaved half-a-second off the British 50m freestyle record, set in 1997, by clocking 32.24 seconds for her S9 class in the multi-disability events.
But with records tumbling and dictating where the medals went, the Wyre Forest Swimming Club member had to be content with a silver in the 100m backstroke.
Fellow Kidderminster teenager Amy Smith was sixth in both the able-bodied 100m and 50m freestyle after beating her personal bests in the heats.
