MOTORSPORT: A late phone call for Chad Yarranton sent him rushing out to Italy for a World Championship motocross qualifier at 85cc big wheel class.
The Stourport teenager finished 41st out of 78 competing on a borrowed bike and was just outside qualifying.
His dad Buster said: "They rang us on Thursday evening and he was on a flight the next day at 11am.
"He made a mistake and was passed on the last lap in his race but was up against top young American and European riders."
The Team Green Kawasaki star finished third in the latest BYMX British Youth Championship round in Scotland.
Yarranton is sixth in the series but hopes to break into the top three in future races.
He is off to Hummelo, Holland, for an international meet on the weekend of August 2 and 3.
