ROWING: A record eight Stourport junior crews made the 600-mile round trip to Strathclyde to compete in the National Championships regatta.
The championship is one of Britain's most prestigious events and there were more than 700 top crews entered.
Heats and repechage were held on Friday and the Stourport squad made it to finals day.
Three crews reached their finals and although just missing out on medals, did well in a highly competitive field.
The girls' J14 coxed four, comprising Laura Ray, Rebecca Saunders, Stacy Gwillam, Jenny Corbett and cox Nicola Price, was fourth.
Jessica Danby achieved fifth in the girls' J14 sculls, while Ray and Saunders were sixth in the J14 double sculls.
Daniel Brighton was a semi-finalist in the boys' J14 sculls, as were Rupert Conway and Ashley Price in the J16 double sculls.
Other crews, girls: J15 double sculls (Danby, Katherine Bradley), J15 coxed four (Danby, Bradley, Rebecca Perkins, Harriet Conway, cox Matthew Brighton); boys: coxless fours (R Conway, Price, Alex Gavin, Brighton).
