REIGNING Bewdley Angling Festival champion John Stockton chalked up another victory on the KDAA water.
He took a 28lb 11oz victory from peg 112 at Winterdyne on the River Severn at Bewdley.
With the river low and clear, Stockton used swimfeeder and white maggots to take barbel up to 5lb.
Second was Albert Baker, on peg 25 on the upstream Hawksbatch section, with 21-3 of barbel.
Result: Stockton (Heathway Tackle) 28-11 (112), Baker (Waterside) 21-3 (25), J Williams (Storeys) 18-11 (34), Gary Farmer (Tipton) 17-11 (98), D Pierson (Yorks) 12-9 (29), Burns (Heathway Tackle) 9-12 (106).
With the festival just a week away, the river received welcome extra water at the weekend and big weights are expected.
