ONE budding wordsmith is celebrating after being named the Evesham Journal Cup Student Court Reporter 2003.
Evesham High School student Jonathan Stead had to report on a case heard as part of the south Worcestershire heat of the Magistrates Mock Trial competition in March.
The 14-year-old had just one week to turn his notes into a full newspaper article.
Jonathan said: "I was shocked when I learned I had won.
"It had been such a long time since I had written the article I had almost forgotten about it!"
Assistant headteacher Gill Brookes said: "I am absolutely delighted.
"It was a clean sweep for us because we also won the competition as well.
"We are on top of everything this year!"
