Sugar flowers such as roses and lilies were created by Debbie Powell in a demonstration of cake decorating at the July meeting.
She showed how a rose was made by layers of petals around a centre core, and the leaves, with veins formed by a rubber mould. Miss Powell showed many examples of other flowers and decorations. Then she judged the Flower of the Month competition, won by Monica Downes, with Jenny Vanderhook second and Julie Shaw third.
The winner of the competition for the most unusual kitchen utensil was Angie Sorrell.
The evening ended with a dress rehearsal of the dishes to be prepared on a French theme for the group meeting in the autumn.
An outing will be organised in August.
Meetings at Cleobury parish hall will start again in September.
