President Barbara Lees welcomed three visitors to the July meeting, two of whom attended a WI meeting for the first time.
Members were asked to complete the national federation survey.
Val Evans read a report from the delegate who attended the meeting at the Royal Albert Hall on behalf of Mamble and Rock groups.
An outing is planned to Worcester Porcelain on Monday, September 1.
Francis Brett Young, the poet, writer and dramatist, was the subject of a talk by Michael Hall.
Mr Young was born in Halesowen in 1884, the son of a doctor. Several of his books are based in Wyre Forest.
The Francis Brett Young Society will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his death next year and a commemorative plaque will be produced by Royal Worcester Porcelain.
There are a few places left on the evening outing to Stocktonbury Gardens on August 11 when members celebrate the 85th anniversary of the group.
