CRICKET fans are being invited to a match with a difference on Sunday - all the competitors will be kitted out in 18th century clothes.
And the game - at Witley Court - will be played according to Georgian-era rules, which means underarm bowling, no lbw law and two stumps instead of three.
The event is being put together by English Heritage who have put a team forward to pit their stockings and frilly white shirts against a team made up of Worcestershire sides The Fossils and John Banner's International All Stars.
Batsmen will take to the green at 2pm for the match, being held to raise funds for their favourite charities.
The historic stately home will also host stalls, crafts and sideshows from 11am to warm the crowds up for the big match.
Mr Banner - who specialises in raising money for good causes through his team - said: "We don't much care what we look like.
"We hope lots of local people will attend to cheer us along," he added
And an appeal printed in the Shuttle/Times and News for Wyre Forest cricketers to come forward for the event has generated interest amongst sports fans, said a spokesman for Witley Court.
