SUNDAY, July 27. Everyone welcome to the garden party at Folliott House (next door to church) from 3pm. Plenty of activities for everyone, stalls to peruse and a cup of tea, not forgetting the musical entertainment. Offers of items for tombola or raffle to (01684) 833339.
Saturday, July 12, saw one of the most successful Shindigs mounted by the Castlemorton Common Association. The clear skies brought locals and supporters from far afield to help raise funds for this year's worthy cause, Hollybush Church West Wall repair fund.
The gymkhana in the afternoon was well attended, with energetic children taking part in pony competitions, cycle and foot races plus target football. Many parents were relieved that the tradition of Mum and Dad 100 yard sprints had been quietly discarded in the 27C heat!
The gymkhana results are as follows: Junior overall winner Maddie Pit, 2 Emily Brooks; Senior overall winner Josie Wilkes, 2 Rosie Stephenson; The dog show - The Jeff Leake Memorial Cup, Best in show Murphy, owner Daniel Peakman.
The evening event was supported by a pig roast run by members of the association, a bar with real ales, again staffed by the association. Med Snookes and the Good Scratch provided superb entertainment, which was well appreciated. The crowd soon got into the spirit of the occasion and as a result a sizeable profit was made. The association wishes to thank its many friends and helpers who have again responded to a good cause, in particular Mary Weaver for her sponsorship of the gymkhana, Ginny Miles and Claire Chapman for their help in running the gymkhana, Dinkie Drinkwater, a genius with bar plumbing among his other skills, Alan Hughes for transport, Millers Tyres for their sponsorship of the target football and Med Snookes and the Good Scratch for hours of great music.
Castlemorton Common Association are pleased to present the Hollybush Church West Wall repair fund with a cheque for £500.
