ONE local community helping another! That was certainly the case on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 22 when members of Castlemorton Common Association visited Hollybush Church to present a cheque for £500 to Reverend Joy Birkin for West Wall appeal fund. Representatives included Malcolm Prior, Barbara and Scottie Stuart, Bob Amatt and secretary Med Snookes who presented the cheque. This money was raised at the annual Shindig held on July 12 and included the sale of 250 portions of roast pork and 660 pints of liquid refreshments plus other contributions. What a superb effort by everyone concerned. A big thank you from Joy and Hollybush PCC who have been overwhelmed by the interest, generosity and help received towards raising what seemed at first an unattainable amount of money. We are now well on the way.
Castlemorton Common Association have also helped Castlemorton Church with a substantial cheque towards the cost of re-hanging refurbished bells and the roof appeal. The association always appreciate any help received in their fund raising events.
