ONE of the country's longest running traditional jazz bands will be playing in Upton-upon-Severn in a one-off gig.
Papa Joe's All Stars last appeared in the town, famed for its annual jazz festival, in October 2001.
The band's line-up includes Ken Sims on cornet who appeared at this year's festival with John Peter's Jazz 'n' Swing Band, and has led his own Dixie Kings since 1981.
Paul Munnery on trombone is also well-known to Upton Jazz Festival fans from his 11-piece band Harlem.
On clarinet and sax is Charlie Connor who played with the Cambridge-based Riverside Jazz Band and the Cambridge City Jazz Band as well as his own group, Vintage Reeds.
Papa Joe's line-up also includes Mike Goodwin on bass, Andy Ford on banjo, and Jerry Card on drums.
The concert, in Upton Memorial Hall at 8pm on Friday, August 1, has been organised by the Friends of the Upton Jazz Festival.
Tickets are £9, members £7.
