Once again the comments I am about make are made as a private individual, albeit a former governor of Malvern Link Church of England School.
I find the comments made by Julien Kramer (Malvern Gazette, July 18) both baffling and evasive. In trying to spin his way out of blaming the headteacher Jennifer Potts after the criticism that he has received he attempts to scapegoat the rest of her staff instead.
This school would not be as good as it is if it was just down to the Jennifer Potts. The high esteem in which the school is held within the Link community is due to a team effort involving the head, the staff and the governors.
Trying to shift the blame in this cynical manner is merely a sad cop out. Blaming the staff is to denigrate the whole school.
In conclusion, the honourable course for Julien Kramer to take would be to admit that in accusing Malvern Link Primary School of being institutionally racist the independent panel set up by the Church of England got it wrong.
However, in this case, like the old Elton John hit, sorry seems to be the hardest Word.
