EDUCATION inspectors have delivered a massive boost to a Malvern school as term ended this week.
Poolbrook Primary School has emerged from 'special measures' after two years' work to rectify issues raised by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
The news comes following Ofsted's latest inspection held last Thursday, which will be the subject of a formal report published later this year.
Head of Governors Donald Brealey said the school's achievement was well deserved.
"Everyone has worked so hard to get to this point," he said, "There has been a complete reorganisation of the school and we have reviewed the whole curriculum."
Headteacher Gill Samuels agreed, saying: "We are all delighted. It's very good news for the school."
Poolbrook has had termly inspections for the last two years and has been following an action plan to target problem areas.
Mr Brealey said: "I went in the other day and a young lad opened the door for me. The atmosphere is brilliant now - the pupils have obviously benefitted from the changes."
A fun day was held on Wednesday to mark the end of term with sports events, a barbecue and a bouncy castle for the pupils.
It also provided a suitable backdrop to the celebrations.
It is hoped that this success will raise Poolbrook's profile and encourage more children to come to the school, which currently has about 70 pupils.
There are further plans for improvement.
Mr Brealey said: "There are still areas to be looked at, we just want to keep getting better now we've come this far."
