A PROFESSOR from QinetiQ in Malvern has just been appointed a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Professor Paul Cannon is in good company as he joins QinetiQ's chief executive, Sir John Chisholm, in this appointment.
Professor Cannon leads the ionospheric research within the Centre for Propagation and Atmospheric Research at QinetiQ and is also technical director of its Communications Depart-ment.
He works one day a week at the University of Bath where he holds a chair in Radio Systems and Atmospheric Sciences and is also a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
Prof Cannon, who won the IEE's Marconi Premium award in 1989, is a Commission deputy chairman of the International Union of Radio Science.
The Royal Academy of Engineering praised his innovative research in the field of radio propagation and noted the contribution nationally and internationally.
