MATHON man Alan Wallcroft is raising nearly £2,000 to take part in a charity trek across the Great Wall of China.
Mr Wallcroft is taking part in the PDSA's Challenge of a Lifetime, the Great Wall of China Trek, in October.
On Tuesday, a coffee morning is being held in the gardens of Cradley Post Office to raise money for the venture.
Among the attractions is a draw, with the top prize a fine bone china rose, worth £500.
Other prizes including a ladies camel suede jacket donated by fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.
Tickets, priced £1, are on sale at the post office, or at the coffee morning itself, which starts at 10.30am. The draw itself will take place at 11.45am.
There will also be a number of stalls including cakes, bric-a-brac, jams and chutney, and books.
He has committed himself to raising £1,995 to take part on the trek and would welcome any sponsorship donations.
They can also be sent to Mr Wallcroft at the Bromsgrove Advertiser, 5 High Street, Bromsgrove, B61 8AJ.
