A POPULAR West Mal-vern playgroup faces having to find a new home due to building work at the village primary school.
Leapfrogs pre-school group has just lost its present base at St James' CE Primary School.
Work at the oversubscribed school has just started to create two new classrooms in the area where the playgroup used to meet.
Leapfrogs, which caters for children between two and four years old, has been of-fered temporary accommodation by the West Malvern branch of the Royal British Legion.
Assistant supervisor Sarah Trengove said it hopes to put a mobile classroom some-where nearby. However, first it needs to find land, and get cash and planning permis-sion.
"It's nice that the school is so popular, and that they need the space," she said.
"It's good for the school and good for the children but it's not so good for the playgroup."
The group, which has been running for around 12 years, is OFSTED-registered and runs five days a week from 9am-12.30pm. Children aged three and over can come free of charge.
It has had a quote of £22,000 for a mobile classroom, and has formed a committee to come up with ways of raising the money.
It is also to negotiate with St James' Church and St James' School to see if any land can be made available.
Miss Trengove said the new facility could be used by the rest of the community and appealed for anyone who can help to call 01684 560792.
