PAPA Joe's All Stars will be the guest performers at the next concert held by the Friends of Upton Jazz Festival.
One of the longest running traditional bands in the UK, Papa Joe's last played for the group in 2001.
The line-up includes Ken Sims on cornet, a former member of Acker Bilk's band in the late 50s and a long time band leader in his own right. He appeared at this year's festival with John Petter's Jazz 'n' Swing Band.
Charlie Connor, clarinet and soprano sax, has played with the likes of John Haim's Jelly Roll Kings, Mike Daniel's Delta Jazzmen, Riverside Jazz Band and Cambridge City Jazz Band. He still performs with his own outfit, Vintage Reeds.
Paul Munnery, trombone, is deputising for regular slide man Barry Weston. He has appeared in Upton with his 11-piece band Harlem. Last year he was at Hanley Castle High School with Jeff Barnhart's British Band.
The concert is at the Memorial Hall on Friday, August 1, at 8pm. Tickets are £9 from Pepperpot Print, High Street, 01684 593794 or on the door, if any are left.
