THE historic manor house of Hellens at Much Marcle will host a fundraising concert for St Michael's Hospice.

The event is being held on August 4 at 7pm and numbers are limited to 150.

The performers will be Nicholas Clapton and Jennifer Partridge.

Born in Worcester, Mr Clapton studied music at Magdalen College, Oxford, and developed a great admiration for the 18th Century repertoire.

He has pursued a career in opera, oratorio and recital, performing mainly contemporary works. He has travelled world wide, from Britain and Europe to the Far East. He's currently a professor at the Royal Academy of Music.

Jennifer Partridge will accompany on piano. As well as appearing on both TV and radio, Jennifer has made recordings of works from composers such as Schumann and Schubert.

Recently she has edited the Guerney piano works and intends to get them published and recorded this year.

Nicholas and Jennifer have played together on several past occasions, creating a repertoire of French and British songs.

The evening begins with a complementary drink and the house and gardens will be open to guests. Tickets cost £25, which includes a buffet supper.
