HOW many Evening News readers, like myself, are noticing a shift of words by Tony Blair in justifying his stance on the justification of war on Iraq?
Earlier, it was that weapons of mass destruction capable of being deployed at 45 minutes notice would be found.
Now it's that evidence of a programme of weapons of mass destruction will be found.
We must remember that Tony Blair was a lawyer. The Prime Minister has spoken many times of attacks on his integrity by the BBC.
I'm reminded of the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, who said of an acquaintance: "The louder he protested his honour, the faster we counted the spoons."
TERRY JAMES,
Drakes Broughton.
