EIGHT-year-old Julian Le Grand was pictured in the Malvern Gazette fifty years ago with a piece of Mount Everest.
The lad was given the rock by Wilfrid Noyce, the former Malvern College master who took part in the 1953 expedition which conquered the world's highest mountain.
Mr Noyce gathered the rock 26,300 feet up on the South Col. Young Julian's father was a master at Malvern College and was Mr Noyce's best man when he got married at Malvern Priory.
