COLWALL Players begin rehearsals this week for their autumn production, The Anastasia File.
The play is written by Royce Ryton and set in 1920s Germany. It follows events in the life of Anastasia, daughter of Russian Tsar Nicholas II, from the moment she is rescued from a Berlin canal, refusing to give her identity, to the day she admits to being the daughter of the Tsar and the endless questions this revelation throws up.
The play will be directed by Marie-Louise Doherty and is the first production she has directed for the Colwall Players.
She said: "It's well written and I am sure the audience will find it totally absorbing."
