POLICE are appealing for Good Samaritans who came to the rescue of a bag-snatch victim to come forward with information.
The woman was near Worcester Cathedral on Saturday around 5pm when a man grabbed her bag from her shoulder and ran off. A number of people saw the theft and gave chase.
The robber and pursuers stopped outside Town & Country estate agents in Foregate Street.
A struggle followed and the offender was injured, leaving a pool of blood on the pavement. He made off and a search of the area failed to find him.
"The man is white, aged 20-24, skinny, and was wearing a dark sweater with yellow stripes. He had mousy hair and wore a white baseball cap," said Det Con Stuart Hawkeswood.
"I'm appealing for witnesses to contact me. Call me on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
