MANOR Park Tennis Club was bathed in sunshine for finals day.
Despite the heat, an excellent standard of tennis was played in front of a large crowd.
Some 85 adults and approximately 40 juniors had entered the tournament in total.
This year, for the first time, there were plate finals in additions to the main events so that those aspiring champions of the future could also take part on the big day.
The club say that the increased number of competitors is testimony to the vitality and enthusiasm of those playing at Manor Park.
Many of the matches were closely contested and three setters rapidly became the norm.
Several players had qualified for three finals, Chris Skinner, Alice Huskinson, Barry Tuck, Ben Marks and Emma Marks and some played nine sets during the course of a long, hot day.
Notable results saw club coach Chris Skinner beat Rory Guilding 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 which was a match played in the hottest part of the day.
Chris Skinner and Alice Huskinson retained their individual singles titles and also their mixed title; Barry Tuck and Mike Marks defeated Chris Skinner and Graeme Hick in three close sets, regaining the men's doubles title that they first won in 1999 and their victory was mirrored in the Under 15 boys' Doubles when sons, Richard and Ben, were triumphant.
Tuck and elder son Chris also retained their family doubles title in a three-set thriller with Marks and Ben. The mixed doubles saw coach Skinner play with junior Alice Huskinson and they beat coach Elizabeth Veal playing with junior Chris Tuck. Huskinson won all three of the matches that she was involved in.
