MALVERN Town have increased their gate prices for the first time in four years to meet rising referee costs.
Town was one of 36 clubs that voted in the rise in referee's match-day fees and expenses at the recent West Midland Regional League annual meeting.
But it means that fans will have to soak up some of that cost next season with adult admission prices going up from £2.50 to £3.
However, after some consideration, the club has decided to freeze concession prices at £1.50.
Club secretary Margaret Coldicott explained: "We only want the best standard of referees to oversee our matches but to have that we have to be prepared to play a little bit extra."
Town's general manager Richard Anson added: "Unfortunately, the increases are necessary as the costs of running the club only continues to increase, however this is the first increase for concessions I can recall in recent years."
Meanwhile, Town have announced a new season ticket offer for the new 2003-2004 campaign.
The ticket includes entry to all first team and reserve home games, as well as first team, home cup ties (except FA Vase).
Tickets are priced at £55 for adults and £28 concessions.
These can be purchased at any of the home pre-season friendlies, or by writing to the club, with cheques made payable to 'Malvern Town Football Section.'
Written applications should be sent to: Season Ticket Application,
Malvern Town Football Club,
Langland Stadium,
Langland Avenue,
Malvern, Worcs. WR14 2EQ
Season tickets can also be used for friendly games if purchased in advance.
This season 21 teams will make up the West Midlands League Premier Division.
