MAN-of-the tournament Nathan Newport's super winning six saw Worcester Nomads lift Malvern Cricket Club's junior crown on Sunday.
After coming through their respective group games, Nomads and Stratford-upon-Avon battled it out for the Quintech Computer Systems-sponsored under-14s annual tournament.
Stratford batted first and were restricted to 46 runs in their allotted six overs.
But, in reply, Newport (26) and his teammates made light work of reaching their target with the star player smashing his six over square leg with an over to spare.
Malvern Club president, George Chesterton, presented the awards and thanked everyone who helped organise the event.
Ed Smith, of Old Elizabethans, won the 'champagne moment' for his caught & bowled during their match with Malvern.
Stratford's Will Wright picked up the best bowler award, turning in tournament figures of 6 for 24 off five overs.
Charlie Hayter, also from Stratford, was awarded best batsman with an aggregate score of 96.
But it was Newport who picked up the top player of the tournament accolade after scoring an unbeaten 73 runs throughout the day and also bowled economically. He received a bat, donated by Crusader Sports, for his efforts.
