A WOMAN is in critical condition today after being taken to Hereford County Hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car collision.
The woman, in her mid-30s, was a passenger in a red Rover 216 car when it was in collision with a blue Rover 820 and a blue Layland truck on the A438 at Staunton-on-Wye, seven miles from Hereford.
Firefighters from Hereford fire station's white watch took half an hour to cut the roof off the car and release the woman, after the accident at 5.57pm on the Hereford to Brecon Road yesterday.
"She was treated at the scene by fire brigade and ambulance officials then a doctor took over," said sub-officer Lee Champ of Hereford fire station.
The woman suffered serious head injuries, the driver of the blue Rover suffered cuts and bruises to the face and the driver of the red Rover suffered cuts to the face and a fractured right leg.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
