FORMER Sixways prop George Davis is the on the verge of moving to Exeter Chiefs.
Davis, who was released by Worcester Rugby Club in the summer as part of a clearout, has been on trial at the County Ground with a view to a permanent move.
If successful, Davis would become the fourth former Sixways star at Exeter following in the footsteps of centre Alistair Murdoch, lock Dave Sims and stand-off Tony Yapp.
The former Gloucester man had limited opportunities at Worcester since John Brain brought him to Sixways.
Exeter's director of rugby Ian Bremner is looking to fill gaps in his squad before their first pre-season game against Redruth on August 16.
Among those on trial with Davis have been Bath youngster Alex Clark, back row forwards John Dalziel, from Gala, and Sydney University's Jonathan Bowman.
In addition, London Wasps wing Richard Briggs was hoping to give Bremner extra options out wide.
