WORCESTER badminton star Simon Archer is planning to upset the odds when he takes part in the mixed doubles at the world championships at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham tomorrow.
The silver and bronze medalist in the 1999 world championships, plays with Kirsten McEwan for the last time before he prepares for the Olympic Games with Donna Kellogg.
But Archer is quietly confident that the Anglo-Scot duo, who face fourth seeds Jonas Rasmussen and Rikke Olsen in tomorrow's second round, can upset the formbook.
In today's men's doubles he teams up with Hampshire's Graham Hurrell as England's wild-card pair against George Patis and Theo Velkos of Greece.
