WORCESTER Canoe Club ended the National Marathon Championships in runners-up spot.
Leighton Buzzard CC eventually went home with the title after battling over the two days on the River Severn at Worcester.
However, Worcester notched up an impressive 650 points tally with some notable individual performances on Saturday and Sunday.
Worcester gems Claire and Laura Moran claimed second and third place respectively in the under-16 junior ladies K1.
James Parker struck gold in the over-55s veterans K1 while Benjamin Holmes, alongside Pip Ede, claimed victory in the under-14 K2. Holmes was also third in the under-14 junior mens K1.
Simon Davies and Mike Hawthorn were victorious in the over-45 veteran mens K2.
Worcester Canoe Club chairman Sue Hawthorn was also in the top placings, claiming second in the over-35 veteran ladies K1.
"The weekend was a big success," she said.
"The standard was again very high and Worcester showed great promise with great performances by the juniors."
