A CLASSIC solution to people dossing at a Worcester car park is on the cards.
Classical music echoing around the newly-refurbished St Martin's Gate car park could deter vagrants, a city councillor has suggested.
Ian Imray made the suggestion after a similar scheme had proved effective at a car park in Stoke-on-Trent.
"This car park's been a pain in the neck for police," he said at last night's Worcester City Council cabinet meeting. "In Stoke, they had classical music played loudly and it has stopped the undesirables from dossing there."
The suggestion came as members discussed the opening times of the car park, which is to have a £500,000 refurbishment.
They approved plans to award Intelligent Vision Solutions - the firm behind the city's CCTV system - the contract to install and maintain security features.
The cabinet approved a proposal for opening at 7am and closing at 8pm.
