POLICE have launched a hunt for the driver of a red old-style Rover saloon after a sex attack on a Redditch woman as she returned from a night out with friends.
The incident happened on Thursday between 10-10.45pm.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was walking along Mount Pleasant near The Black Horse pub when a man in a car asked if she wanted a lift home.
Believing she was getting into a taxi, the woman climbed into the front seat and gave the driver her address.
Instead of taking her home, the offender headed for the Washford Industrial Estate where he stopped the car and indecently assaulted her.
The victim managed to escape from the car and ran off. The car was then driven off at speed.
A passer-by found the woman in a distressed state at the Washford island and called police.
The offender is in his late 20s, with dark hair and dark skin. He was driving an old style red Rover saloon which was believed to be parked along Mount Pleasant before the assault.
Anyone with information is asked to call Redditch police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
