POLICE are appealing for information after youths tried to steal a child-size motorbike from a five-year-old boy in Church Hill North.
The incident happened at 8.15pm on Tuesday, July 15, as the child was riding his Honda off-road motorbike on the grass at Bomford Hill in Redstone Close. He was with his father and uncle.
Two youths pushed the youngster off his motorbike and ran off with it but abandoned it a short while later as the boy's father and uncle gave chase.
The child was very upset by the incident but was not hurt.
The youths are described as two white males, both aged about fifteen, one was about 5ft 8ins and had short blond hair.
He was wearing dark blue or black three-quarter length jeans and nothing on his top half.
Sgt Leighton Harding said: "This was a very frightening ordeal and anyone with information can contact me directly on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
