A REDDITCH teenager has been chosen to dance in Coppelia with the English Youth Ballet.
Studley High School pupil Xena McCaffrey, 15, trains with the Rutleigh Norris School of Dance and will be busy rehearsing alongside 100 dancers aged eight-18 for the ballet at the Regent Theatre in Stoke next month.
An English Youth Ballet spokesman said: "It was a nail-biting time for more than 200 dancers at the audition in February.
"The lucky ones who have joined us will have a unique opportunity to have classes from lead professionals from the company.
"The choreography by director Janet Lewis and Dominic Marshall will be built around their talents and after an intensive rehearsal period of six hours a day, they will be ready to perform in this full-length ballet with the principal roles danced by Julianne Rice-Oxley, Kasper Cornish and Roddie Patrizio."
The ballet is being staged on Friday and Saturday August 22 and 23.
Performances are at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £10, £12 and £14 on 01782 213800.
