YOU publish many letters from around the UK from members of the UK Independence Party.
I think they should rename themselves the UK Anti-European Party.
They're rabidly anti-EU on the subject of UK independence and, yet, when it comes to independence from the USA, they are strangely silent.
Did they not notice the recent statement from Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon that our armed services are to integrate their systems to integrate better with the US Armed Services?
Had this been integrating with the EU Armed Services this would have brought howls of protest from the UKIP.
This is just one example of how this country is aligning itself with US interests.
That we allied ourselves to the US in an illegal war against Iraq again goes without comment.
Your offices would have been inundated with letters from the UKIP had we gone to war allied to the EU.
TERRY JAMES,
Drakes Broughton.
