A POLICE investigation has been launched after a body was discovered in an Wychbold garden.
The dead man was found at 7.20am yesterday by officers in rural Crown Lane.
Police would not reveal how the body came to be found - or the identity of the man.
However, a villager told the Advertiser he thought the death was caused by hanging.
A police spokesman said detectives were keeping an open mind about the incident and would be investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
"No personal details will be issued until a formal identification has been made and the next of kin informed.
"The coroner has been informed and a post mortem will be carried out in due course," he added.
When the Droitwich Spa Advertiser visited Wychbold yesterday (Tuesday) a majority of residents were unaware of the tragedy.
One man, who has passed the scene at about 8.30am, said: "I was shocked to see about six cars on the drive of the house - normally you're lucky to see one around here.
"I asked an officer what was happening but I was politely told to mind my own business.
"I didn't know the person who lived in the house," he added.
