RATS, mice and creepy crawlies that give Droitwich Spa householders nightmares are to be tackled by a new gang pest experts.
Changes are afoot within Wychavon District Council's Pest Control Service.
It has just awarded Throckmorton-based Premier Pest Control a three-year tender, after the firm submitted an application which was judged on price, quality and health and safety considerations.
The council will still provide a free service for the treatment of rats, mice and wasps to residents receiving income support.
But Premier Pest Control will deal with chargeable services including rats, mice, bedbugs, cockroaches and wasps to residents who would previously just have been referred to the Yellow Pages. Wychavon's environmental protection manager, Geoff Carpenter, said: "We have listened to our customers.
"We are now confident this new service will meet their needs," Mr Carpenter added.
