YOUNG players from Evesham made their mark at this year's county ranking trials.
Evesham High School was the venue for what produced a feast of table tennis action with both boys and girls showing their paces.
Rachael Sellick took second spot in the combined junior and cadet girl's ranking list - an event that saw five Evesham players in a 12-strong field.
Sellick took eventual No 1 Emma Williams to five sets, while also getting the better of Hannah Garbutt who defeated Williams.
Garbutt also lost out to Eleanor Lasota, who then failed to overcome teammate Leanne Sully in a see-saw five-setter.
Sully and Lasota finished fourth and fifth respectively, ahead of Katie Sellick (7th) and Amy Moffatt (8th).
Luke Moffatt made an impression in both the junior and cadet categories.
After claiming eighth spot in the former events the Evesham youngster fought bravely to earn fourth place in the cadet rankings.
Moffatt took eventual No 1 Ben Salisbury to five sets and was within a point of getting the better of his Malvern opponent in the fourth set.
Further down the cadet listings, Faizie Freemantle and Andrew Bryant both gave good accounts of themselves in securing 12th and 13th places in the rankings.
Sandwiched either side of Moffatt in the junior trials were Andrew Taylor and Martin Brown, who won all his group matches to take top qualification spot.
